Meet the Founder

Joyce R. Caraway is a veteran educator, with experience ranging from early childhood to secondary education. Joyce has dedicated her career to helping students build confidence, explore their creativity, and discover their unique potential.

Joyce's purpose is deeply rooted in a strong desire to uplift the next generation, especially African American children, who often go unseen in traditional educational spaces. Everything she creates through Joybird’s Treehouse is guided by a calling to serve, to represent, and to inspire.

Joyce believes that every child is born with purpose, and it’s her responsibility to help nurture that through culturally affirming reading and writing resources.
